Global cybersecurity major Kaspersky is poised to significantly enhance its investment in India, using the country as a strategic hub for regional services. According to Adrian Hia, Managing Director, Kaspersky (APAC), the company will focus on marketing, business development, and cloud operations, both locally and regionally.

Hia revealed that Kaspersky's strong double-digit growth in 2024 sets the stage for even better financial performance in 2025. He highlighted plans for further expansion, including the potential establishment of a data centre in India, which could lead to increased hiring.

Addressing cybersecurity threats, Hia warned of worsening cyber-attacks in 2026, exacerbated by widespread AI tool access. He emphasized the need to harness AI defensively while commending India's 'tiering of data' strategy but noted the cybersecurity risks of interconnected systems. Hia advocated for upskilling in response to AI replacing manual tasks.
